The Oklahoma Sooners made a huge recruiting splash Wednesday, landing one of the top recruits in the country in Lewisville offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

A consensus five-star recruit, Fasusi is the third-ranked offensive tackle recruit in the class of 2025 according to the 247Sports Composite score. Fasusi becomes Oklahoma's highest-ranked offensive line commit since the team landed five-star Brey Walker in 2018.

Fasusi is a multi-sport athlete with shot put and discus pedigree in his background. The lengthy tackle is already reportedly at 295 pounds and is one of the best athletes at the position in the country.

The Sooners will pair Fasusi with four-star Ryan Fodje, also out of Texas. Fodje is the 11th-ranked offensive tackle recruit in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite score. Fasusi and Fodje offer the Sooners a talented pair of bookend tackle recruits with tremendous upside.

The Sooners have been an NFL pipeline under offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. No doubt it was Bedenbaugh's stout record of development that helped secure Fasusi's commitment. Just recently, Oklahoma put two offensive tackles in back-to-back first rounds with Anton Harrison (Jaguars) and Tyler Guyton (Cowboys), as well as third-round pick Wanya Morris in 2023 and seventh-round pick Walter Rouse in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Fasusi cited Bedenbaugh's track record of NFL development as a significant driving force behind his commitment.

"He cares so much about you and it shows in how hard he coaches you. Look at all the OU guys who are in the NFL."

Funnily enough, Fasusi committed today on Bill Bedenbaugh's birthday. Coincidence? Maybe not.

Fasusi's commitment will be the fourth offensive lineman to commit to the Sooners in the 2025 recruiting class. The Sooners currently sit at the 11th-ranked recruiting class before Fasusi's commitment but will almost certainly move into the top-10 after this.
