Las Vegas Raiders should stay away from signing this player that everyone is talking about

The Las Vegas Raiders' initial 53-man roster is here, and, it has some things on it that we didn't expect. Like, for instance, on my predictions, I had a few players that I thought were locks, who did not make it. I also didn't have wide receiver Ramel Keyton making it, and he did, even though I really wanted him to make it.

Now, this initial 53-man roster will change -- it will probably change the very next day. I can promise you the Raiders will not be keeping seven linebackers on the roster all throughout the year. They will make some moves and some of those guys will be placed on the practice squad. That was just a move to make sure those players don't hit waivers and get snatched up by someone else.

But, speaking of waivers, there are a ton of great players on the waiver wire right now. On Wednesday, the day after roster cuts , teams have until noon Eastern Standard Time, to put in any claims for players on the wire. And, I can tell you right now, the Raiders will do so for a few different guys. They will also sign some players who are veterans, which means they are not on the waiver wire. However, there is one player they should stay away from.

Raiders should stay away from Noah Brown

Let's start with some background on Brown, who was selected in the seventh round (239th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. His early career was by limited playing time. Over his first five seasons with Dallas, Brown accumulated 82 receptions for 980 yards and three touchdowns. His role was often as a depth receiver or special teams player.

In 2023, after signing with the Houston Texans, Brown had a breakout period. He recorded 33 receptions for 567 yards and two touchdowns in just 10 games, showcasing an impressive average of 7.2 yards per reception, which ranked him third in the NFL for that metric among players with at least 25 targets.

Noah Brown was re-signed by the Houston Texans in early 2024 but was unexpectedly released during roster cuts on Tuesday. The Houston Texans have a stacked wide receiver room, and Brown, who is a veteran in this league, was only going to hinder some of the development of the young guys in that room, so the Texans had no choice but to release him.

Now, tons of teams are vying for the possibility of signing him, including the Raiders fan base to potentially bolster a weak wide receiver room in terms of depth. And, sure, he would certainly help with depth, but I think the Raiders should stay away from Brown, and it has nothing to do with his game.

Yes, the wide receiver room could use some help, but I genuinely think the Raiders like the young guys they have on the squad and want them to develop. I think they should go a different route and maybe go for some cornerbacks rather than receivers because it's a position of need more than the receiver is.
