Tennessee Vols 4-star commit reportedly suffers season-ending injury

A 2025 four-star Tennessee Vols commit reportedly suffered a season-ending injury that will cost him his senior season of high school football.

2025 four-star edge rusher Jayden Loftin announced via an Instagram post on Wednesday that he suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

“To Ville Football, thank you for changing my life forever,” wrote Loftin. “Gave me a chance at something better for my life and blessed me with an amazing group of people to help me develop as a man overall. Finish the job boys go TAKE IT. Unfortunately I tore my ACL and will not be able to finish my senior year. God has prepared me for moments like this and i will not let it diminish my will and my love for the game. To Vol Nation, ill be back in top form ready to put on a show under the lights in Neyland."

Loftin, 6-foot-4/250 lbs from Somerville, NJ, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 19 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state of New Jersey. He's also rated as the No. 234 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

It's a tough break for Loftin -- there's nothing like your senior year of high school football -- but the good news for the talented edge rusher is that he should be recovered in time to practice with Tennessee next fall. A redshirt season for the New Jersey native in 2025 seems likely at this point.
