Texas quarterback Arch Manning did his best Patrick Mahomes imitation for his first career touchdown throw. His second drive was more workman like and Manning showed his toughness with a quarterback sneak.

His first passing touchdown and his first rushing touchdown. All in all, a nice day for the redshirt freshman as No. 4 Texas ran up a 52-0 lead over Colorado State at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

Manning entered the game with 4:04 left in the third quarter against Colorado State. His first play was a 40-yard throw to Johntay Cook II that moved the ball down to the CSU 9.

Manning actually mishandled the snap on second-and-5. But on third down, Manning stepped up into the pocket and looked like he wanted to run. Manning turned to his right and flipped the ball to Silas Bolden, who dove into the end zone for a 5-yard score.

UT play-by-play radio announcer Craig Way said it “Patrick Mahomes like” in how Manning flipped the ball out and made something amazing out of what looked like a broken play.

If Quinn Ewers does that, it’s just an impressive moment. Manning did it, so it likely broke the internet.

Then, Manning and the offense took over again with 14:51 left in the game. Manning threw a dart to for 15 yards to Ryan Wingo to get things moving. Jerrick Gibson’s rushing helped moved the chains, and the Longhorns finally got to the goal line.

On fourth-and-1, coach Steve Sarkisian had no hesitation. He called for Manning to run a quarterback sneak. Manning got into the end zone relatively easy for his first rushing touchdown, giving Texas a 52-0 lead.
