The Kansas City Chiefs began their practice week for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Sept. 1, but the first injury report of the week comes on Monday.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid addressed the media on the team's injury situation following their first practice session, mostly speaking on what we already knew. The only player who won't participate in practice on Monday is Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. It's the second consecutive practice session that he's missed with his sternoclavicular joint dislocation.

Reid effectively ruled out Brown last Friday. The free agent acquisition suffered a sternoclavicular joint injury on the first play of Week 1 of the preseason, making a stretch that he'd be available for Week 1 of the regular season.

Every other player was present for practice and participating in some capacity, including CBs Josh Williams and Nazeeh Johnson, who have both dealt with hamstring injuries recently.

Over the weekend, the Chiefs placed RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the Non-Football Illness list . Edwards-Helaire has dealt with an illness related to PTSD over the past few seasons, with it becoming a recurring issue causing him to miss time during training camp and the preseason. His placement on this list means that he will miss at least four weeks while he manages his mental and physical wellness. Placement on the list means that the Chiefs are not required to pay Edwards-Helaire's weekly salary, but they're opting to do so and support their player in any way possible.

This move leaves the Chiefs with a trio of running backs on the 53-man roster: Isiah Pacheco, Carson Steele, and Samaje Perine. They also have both Keaontay Ingram and Emani Bailey on the practice squad.

In other injury news, Chiefs S Justin Reid told reporters on Sunday that he would be able to play with "no limit" in Week 1 against the Ravens after missing the majority of training camp and the preseason with a quad injury. He passed his physical and was removed from the Active/Non-Football Injury list just 20 days ago.
