After releasing the first Week 1 injury report on Wednesday afternoon, which was full of promising updates, the Bills latest report sheds some light on the direction this team is heading going into the weekend. The good news keeps rolling.

Step one - no new injuries. Step two - upgrade Mitchell Trubisky to full participant. Step three - win the Super Bowl. Here we go!

It's honestly terrific to see, outside of Javon Solomon, who continues to be a "did not participate." That's certainly a bummer heading into what would be his first NFL regular season game. At this point, it seems unlikely that he'll play, although a game status has not been reported yet (it will be on tomorrow's injury report).

Outside of that, the wide receiver group and the safety group are both good to go, two position groups that were seriously hampered by injuries throughout training camp and the preseason, barring a surprise Friday addition.

Trubisky being a full participant and ready to go for Sunday is a bit of a surprise, based on the nature of the hamstring injury that he suffered in the second preseason game. Obviously you don't ever want to rely on your backup quarterback for meaningful minutes (because that would mean Josh Allen is hurt and that would be very bad news), but you absolutely want your security blanket to be available if needed.

Buffalo is gearing up for a Week 1 outing against an Arizona Cardinals team that has a strong rushing attack and a new Rookie Of The Year candidate in wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., so there's plenty for the team to be focusing on. Getting to give that attention to preparation instead of rehab is lovely.
