The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the New York Giants on Sunday, September 8th at noon CST. It's week one which can bring a lot of different elements to the table.

One of those things that can happen is the element of chaos. These teams have yet to paly a game that matters and the starting units haven't played much so far this year. Over the last few seasons, we have seen multiple weird moments and outcomes during week one and chaos is often the reason why.

One of the things that often happens during the course of week one is mistakes on special teams. It doesn't get practiced as often as it should due to the time-limited nature of practices.

The Vikings aimed to prevent some of that ahead of week one by bringing in a punter for a visit.

It feels a little odd that the Vikings would bring in a punter after Ryan Wright had a really good offseason and preseason in beating Seth Vernon out for the job. Miller's visit wasn't about the punter job, it was about the Giants.

Jamie Gilliam is the punter for the Giants and he is a lefty, just like Miller. A lefty punter can cause issues for their opponent because the ball comes off the foot differently and the spin is different. That has caused issues for returners in the past and it could once again.

The Vikings are leaving no stone unturned ahead of week one.
