New Orleans Saints Pro Bowler thinks his new teammate could win an NFL award in 2024

The New Orleans Saints have plenty of questions to answer to complete their preseason. There's no question about a couple of Saints defenders, though. Chase Young and Demario Davis will both be impactful pieces for the unit in New Orleans.

The latter is not lacking confidence in the prior for the 2024 season.

Demario Davis has high praise for Chase Young

Davis thinks that new Saints pass rusher Chase Young could be a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. That'd be a major addition for the team's defense if that occurred.

If Young plays to that caliber, it is safe to assume that the Saints pass rush takes a huge jump forward.

In 2023, they were one of the worst pass-rushing teams in the NFC. There's no way around that.

Accordingly, they added Young in a value free agency move to bolster their upside and depth off the edge. It will allow Cameron Jordan to take more reps inside, a spot where New Orleans may prefer him at this point of his career.

Not to mention, the threat of a physical talent like Young can help players like Carl Granderson and Bryan Bresee cause even more havoc against opposing quarterbacks. Davis has never been one to sugarcoat things. He's not making up this faith in Young after watching him all offseason.

The former Pro Bowl linebacker has officially put the league on notice when it comes to Young's potential with the Saints.
