New Port Richey Gearing Up For Super Active Storm Season With First Ever Hurricane Expo

It's time to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season! And this year, New Port Richey is having their first-ever Hurricane Preparedness Expo right here in town on Van Buren Street. You'll have a chance to hear from experts in the field on health and safety, how to connect with nearby local organizations that will provide help, assistance, and aid during a hurricane disaster, and much more.

The first 100 people get a complimentary hurricane (or any disaster) bug-out-bag to pack your essentials to go and grab in a hurry! Some things to think about putting in a bug-out-bag are maps, water, non-perishable food, pet food and leashes, copies of important paperwork, cash, flashlights, can opener, a bar of soap, a small first aid kit, etc.

Weather scientists are calling for the most active Atlantic hurricane season in over 60 years, so my New Port Richey neighbors, please consider starting to prepare. Even if you don't need the preparations this year, you'll have a head start on next year.
