Three people displaced after house fire in Springville

SPRINGVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — Three people have reportedly been displaced following a house fire early this morning in Springville.

According to a press release from Springville Public City, just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning, an off-duty Springville police officer was driving south on SR-89 when the officer noticed smoke and embers coming from the roof of a house located near the intersection of E 800 S and S 100 E.

The officer notified Springville police of the possible fire at the home. The Springville Fire Department responded to the house fire.

Springville Police also responded and were able to get the residents of the home, as well as neighboring homes, to safety before the fire department arrived.

Once on scene, the fire department also called in a second alarm. Units from Provo, Spanish Fork, Mapleton, and Salem were able to assist.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire before more damage occurred to the home.

Springville Public Safety reports that three people were displaced. One received assistance from the Red Cross while the other two were taken to other locations. The three who were displaced were not harmed and no other injuries were reported.

Springville Fire called in the Utah State Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire.

It is also noted by Springville Fire said the cause of the fire is unknown and there were no injuries to any firefighters.
