    Sheriff: Abingdon man dead after ATV accident

    DICKENSON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) – The Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed an Abingdon man was killed after an overnight ATV accident.

    The man has been identified as Kenny Eugene Collin Jr., 44, according to Dickenson County Sheriff Jeremy Fleming.

    According to Sheriff Fleming, Collin was last seen on the ATV around 8 p.m. on Friday.

    The sheriff’s office was notified of the accident at 9:29 a.m. on Saturday, and Virginia State Police (VSP) were also on the scene.

    VSP reported on Monday that the 2002 Honda TRX350FN ATV was heading north on Route 697 when it went off the left side of the road and hit a tree.

    Collin died at the scene, according to VSP.

    As of Monday, the crash remains under investigation.
