The Denver Nuggets (57-25) appeared to be on their way to a repeat as NBA Champions until they were derailed by the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The problem that the Nuggets faced in the playoffs this season was intensity. Depending on coming back from double-digit leads in the postseason becomes tiring after each game. However, Denver solved their issues of intensity level off of the bench with the signing of Russell Westbrook in the offseason.

    Round 1, Pick 22: DaRon Holmes II - PF - Dayton. 6'10", 220 lbs (20.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 2.6 apg, 2.1 bpg, 38.6% 3-PT FG%).

Holmes would have been a very important player this upcoming season, but he tore his right Achilles tendon last month in the NBA Summer League. He would have allowed for the Nuggets cut down on the regular season minutes for Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter, Jr., and Aaron Gordon. Hopefully, his rehab goes well so that he will be ready to contribute next season.

    Grade: Incomplete.
