Shaker Heights (1-0) defensive back Trey McNutt, the No. 1 safety in the nation and No. 2 recruit in Ohio regardless of position, will put his talents on display this week against Brush (0-1).

The five-star recruit of the 2025 class and Oregon Ducks commit is ranked No. 23 in the class overall. He committed to Oregon over Florida, Texas A&M, USC and Ohio State.

McNutt totaled 61 tackles (three tackles for loss), 12 pass breakups and two forced fumbles on defense to go along with 611 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on offense a season ago.

Last week, Shaker Heights beat Willoughby South, 28-14. On the other side, Brush lost to Lorain, 40-25.

Painesville Harvey star running back Shahn Alston out with injury

Painesville Harvey running back Shahn Alston, a four-star junior, is the No. 9 overall running back in his class and ranked No. 112 overall. He's ranked fifth in Ohio regardless of position.

Alston, who has 21 Division I offers, including Penn State, USC, Auburn and Cincinnati, will not be suiting up for his team's game against Geneva on Friday as he deals with an undisclosed injury.
