    Arrest made in deadly Sunday shooting; police say second suspect considered 'armed and dangerous'

    An arrest has been made in the Sunday shooting death of a 24-year-old Akron woman, police said.

    After following up on tips from the community, police said 25-year-old Corvette Pope was arrested Tuesday in connection to Paige N. Calich's death .

    Warrants have also been issued for 19-year-old Denzel Pope for aggravated murder. Police said Denzel is considered armed and dangerous.

    Akron shooting Sunday leaves Paige Calich dead

    Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to reports of a shooting at 14 Socrates Place. Upon arrival, police discovered Calich had a gunshot wound to the torso. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

    The unknown suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot following the shooting.

    Calich was reportedly in a fight on Saturday, Capt. Michael Miller, public information officer for the Akron police, said. It is unknown whether the shooter had any involvement with the prior argument.
