Jordan Driver, a police officer with the Carbon Hill Police Department, was critically injured in an off-duty motorcycle crash on Thursday morning in Fayette, Alabama. The accident involved no other vehicles.

Driver sustained serious injuries, including internal bleeding and a broken pelvis, and was airlifted to UAB Hospital for emergency treatment. According to a GoFundMe page set up to assist with his medical expenses, Driver underwent immediate surgery upon arrival at the hospital and was scheduled for additional surgery on Friday.

Carbon Hill Police Chief Clark Sanford reported that Driver is expected to face a long and challenging recovery, likely keeping him off duty for about a year. The GoFundMe page notes that he may be hospitalized for approximately three months during this recovery process.

“We are so thankful he is still here with us, but he has a long road to recovery,’’ the GoFundMe statement reads. “We are raising money for Jordan so he will not have to worry about the financial strain of not being able to work.”
