The baby of a man who allegedly shot and killed four other members of his family in Alameda has died after being in critical condition since Wednesday, the city said Monday evening.

"The City of Alameda is very sad to share that baby Wesley, the fifth victim in the tragic domestic shooting that took place Wednesday, July 10, did not survive his injuries and passed away at a local hospital."

Shane Killian, 54, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting. Police allege that Killian fatally shot his wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law and one of his young sons. His 1-year-old son was wounded and had been in critical condition until his death.

Officers received a call Wednesday night from a person who said their neighbor had been shot in the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road. When police arrived, they found a shooting victim. When clearing the residence, officers also found "multiple family members" suffering from gunshot wounds, including children, the Alameda Police Department said on social media.

On Thursday, the city said that officers recovered multiple firearms and "significant evidence."

The motive in the shooting has not yet been released and police continue to investigate, the city said.
