    Albany man charged with fentanyl possession

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An Albany man was arrested on Monday following a drug investigation, according to police. Zamale Howard, 20, was charged with third and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

    On July 22 around 1:55 p.m., Albany Police detectives tried to stop Howard near Sherman and Robin Streets in connection to an ongoing investigation. Upon being approached by police, Howard reportedly refused to comply and fled on foot.

    Officers caught and arrested Howard after a brief chase. While being taken into custody, Howard was allegedly found to have a quantity of fentanyl with him.

    Howard was arraigned at the Albany City Criminal Court on Tuesday before being remanded to the Albany County Jail.
