A North Texas man will spend the next decade behind bars following a street racing crash that claimed the lives of three people in 2022. Nelson Ramirez, 21, heard from the victims’ family members before taking the stand himself to ask for a leniency. FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for aggravated robbery.On Friday, July 12, around 4:40 a.m., the victim stopped at an ice machine in the parking lot at the 3900 block of Hemphill. The victim, driving a pickup towing a flatbed construction trailer, was approached by a Hispanic male who produced a handgun. Small Plane Damaged in Non-Injury Crash at Winfield Airport
A small aircraft is damaged after a weekend accident near Winfield. The plane – a 2004 Series 7 KitFox - was piloted by 60-year-old John Swofford of Fort Worth, TX, and was en route to a final destination of Fort Worth when it landed at Strother Field around 2:15 on Friday afternoon. After the plane landed, a gust of wind caused the plane to lose control and the pilot was unable to correct. The small plane came to rest on a grass embankment and sustained major damage to the prop and left wing. The pilot was uninjured.
