Community Invited to "Encounter the Presence of God" at Final Ablaze Services
JERSEYVILLE/GRAFTON/EDWARDSVILLE/GRANITE CITY/ALTON – Living in the Light Ministries invites you to “encounter the presence of God” at Ablaze. Dr. Kristi Lemley, who founded Living in the Light Ministries, explained that Ablaze is a service where people from across the community come together to worship, hear testimonies and pray. The ministry will wrap up their tour of the Riverbend region in the next week, with plans to hold Ablaze services in Jerseyville, Grafton, Edwardsville, Granite City and Alton. Lemley explained that the services allow them to spread the word of God and share peace and hope with people who need it.

Lindsay Ross-Stewart Receives OVC Outstanding Faculty for Student Success Award
Ross-Stewart teaches in the Exercise and Sport Psychology Graduate Program. She is a certified mental performance consultant and registered mentor in the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and a mental performance consultant for the Canadian Sport Psychology Association. SIUE Shines in Solar Car Challenge: A Spectacular Pit Stop with Innovation and Camaraderie
The Electrek American Solar Car Challenge (ASC) made an exciting pit stop at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Sunday, July 22. More than a dozen cars participated in a seven-state endurance rally, and prior to their arrival on the SIUE campus students from SIUE School of Engineering had the opportunity to proudly showcase the innovative designs and functionality of the solar car and Cougar Baja vehicles during a live television report. As the ASC competitors and crowds began arriving throughout the day, students, staff and even Eddie the Cougar led a fun afternoon of food, deejay and games, while emphasizing the University's commitment to sustainable engineering solutions.

EDWARDSVILLE - Karis Chen of the Montclaire Swim Club broke a 10-year SWISA record in the 15-18 100-yard breaststroke, coming in at 1:09.80, which turned out to be the highlight of the meet, as the Collinsville Swim Club won the girls championship, while Montclaire won the overall title, at the 62nd Southwestern Illinois Swimming Association championship meet Sunday morning and afternoon at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center on the campus of Edwardsville High School.
