Saturday night was a race to remember a young man taken far too soon. Joshua Melton, a Triad High School graduate of 2022, found joy in working as a graphic designer, drifting, dirt track racing, and spending time with his friends. In March 2023, Joshua tragically lost his life in a car accident. To honor his memory, his family and friends have organized this race.

HIGHLAND — It was another great Saturday night of racing at the World Famous Highland Speedway with racing in four classes during the 2nd annual Josh Melton Memorial Night. “We had a great night of (racing) Saturday night, it was beautiful weather, an uncharacteristically cool night at Highland Speedway for a July night. We had a good crowd show up to honor a young man that was taken too soon, Joshua Melton.”
