Investigators release details on plane crash
Lock Haven, Pa. — Investigators have released their preliminary report into the plane crash that killed a 17-year-old Hughesville girl earlier this month. A witness near the site told investigators the Cessna 172N airplane, flown by Maisie Bitler, was only 200 feet above the ground when it passed over him just before the crash. Corey Comperatore ID'd as man killed at Trump rally shooting
Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old man from Buffalo Township, Pa., died after a gunman opened fire during a rally for former President Donald Trump on Saturday evening. The former volunteer fire chief and father of two dove on his family to protect them from the bullets, according to Gov. Josh Shapiro. The governor said he spoke with Comperatore's wife before a news conference in Butler County on Sunday.
Wanted man allegedly flees police
Williamsport, Pa. — A man wanted out of Lehigh County allegedly took off from police when they tried to take him into custody. Deputy Joshua Wolfe of the Lycoming County Sheriff's office said he was notified last month that Julian Enrique Davila, 24, had an arrest warrant and was in the Williamsport, according to charges. Wolfe made contact with Davila in the 50 block of Willow Street on June 15 around midnight, but Davila reportedly fled on foot. Wolfe gave chase and caught him two blocks later. Davila, Allentown, was charged with fleeing police and evading arrest. He previously served 10 days in jail in Lehigh County for the same charges, court records show. Docket sheet
Alleged hit-and-run driver lies to police
Liberty, Pa. — A man who borrowed his friend's truck and wrecked it later lied about the crash to police, charges say. Instead of admitting he crashed his friend's Ford F-250 last month, 40-year-old Justin Phillip Eck called police and claimed the truck had been stolen, said Trp.
