As some showers and storms swing through the area this morning they should remain below severe thresholds. Skies will be drier by midday. The weekend was not too toasty but we are back to high heat today. High temperatures in the upper 90s will be widespread with a few triple digits sprinkled in.

The good news is there will be a lot of dry time during the daytime hours with most of the rain falling at night (especially after today) but there also is a risk of evening storms including on the 4th of July.
