Motorcyclist killed in Ames crash Sunday afternoon

An individual passed away Sunday in Ames as a result of a motorcycle crash.

The Ames Police Department and the Ames Fire Department responded to the area of Bloomington Road and Top O Hollow Road around 4 p.m. for a crash with injury. The adult driver of the motorcycle was found in the roadway when first responders arrived.

The driver was not wearing a helmet, according to a new release from the Ames Police Department.

The person was pronounced dead after they were taken to an area hospital. Authorities are withholding the identity of the victim until the family is notified.
