Donjon Marine Awarded $19 Million Dredging Contract
Hillside, N.J. based marine services provider Donjon Marine has been awarded a contract worth more than $19 million for harbor maintenance dredging in New York and New Jersey. The $19,037,475 firm-fixed-price contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' New York District. Donjon was one of two bidders for the project.

Designed by Kao Hwa Lee Architects and developed by CW Realty, the 149-foot-tall structure will span 58,222 square feet and yield 82 rental units with an average scope of 710 square feet, as well as ground-floor retail space and a cellar level. Jackson Holdings NY LLC is listed as the owner of the property, which is located at the corner of Jackson Avenue and 44th Drive.

The news was huge for Jonathan Monsalve, president and CEO of Osborne Association, a nonprofit advocating for the closing of Rikers Island, decriminalization and decarceration. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Monday that $108 million would be allocated to transform the former Bayview Correctional Facility along Manhattan’s west side near Chelsea into 124 affordable housing units and a community hub. The project, entitled “Liberty Landing,” partners Osborne with Camber Property Group to house formerly incarcerated individuals.
