Good afternoon everyone. As expected, we are seeing trouble spots popping up across the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic as far as heavy showers and thunderstorms; some of which have reached severe limits.

Down in parts of North Carolina in the Raleigh area, heavy showers and storms have had a history of 60mph wind gusts and some wind damage. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the area until these storms pass. If storms hold together, look for those warnings to move east/northeast with these cells.

We are also seeing the same for the North Carolina/Virginia border in the Roanoke Rapids area, where we are seeing similar reports of damaging wind and isolated hail. While we don't see any severe thunderstorm watches at this time, you should expect isolated severe weather to continue for the rest of the afternoon into the evening as we still have more action to the west.

For the Long Island area and southeast New England, we are seeing heavy showers and storms popping up, specifically along the North Shore area of Suffolk County, as well as parts of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. These storms are bringing with it, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and torrential downpours. For the North Shore of Long Island, flooding is possible due to oversaturation from slow moving storms 2 weeks ago.

Overall, heavy showers and storms stretch back into Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas courtesy of a slow moving cold front. At any point, isolated severe weather is possible, including large hail, frequent lightning, damaging winds, torrential rain, and an isolated tornado.
