According to The Mirror, the late Queen turned down what she thought was an inappropriate request from Meghan Markle.

The request had to do with the living arrangements for Prince Harry and Meghan after their wedding.

Harry and Meghan reportedly asked for accomodations within Windsor Castle. At the time, only the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip had rooms within the castle while the other royals lived elsewhere on the estate.

The Queen turned down their request and suggested that they live in Frogmore Cottage.

Lady Elizabeth Anson, a source close to the late Queen, had this to say about the Queen granting Frogmore Cottage to Harry and Meghan,

"The cottage was a big deal. The Queen's entrance into the gardens is right next to their cottage. It is essentially her back yard, her solitude, and her privacy. She was giving that up in gifting Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage. We all thought it was very big of her.
