Anniston to Celebrate a Decade of Downtown Market Revival with a Special Event

Anniston, AL – The Anniston Downtown Market and Main Street Anniston are gearing up for a spectacular celebration this Saturday, June 29, 2024, marking the 10th summer since the market’s revival in the heart of Anniston. The festivities will take place at 126 West 11th Street, bringing together the community for a day of food, music, and fun.

The event, dubbed the Downtown Market’s 10th Birthday Bash, promises a variety of attractions for all ages. Highlights include a Chef’s Demo by Stacey Hardy of Rosie’s Gourmet-to-Go and PondeRosie Farm, sponsored by Ted’s Floors & Beyond. Hardy is set to showcase her culinary skills and share tips with market-goers.

Music lovers will be treated to a live performance by Billy Bosler’s Flash Americana, brought to the market by Sparklight. The lively tunes are sure to add to the festive atmosphere and get everyone in the party spirit.

For the little ones, there will be party favors, crafts, and games to keep them entertained. A cake-cutting ceremony will also take place, allowing attendees to enjoy a sweet treat as they celebrate the market’s milestone.

A selfie station will be available for those looking to capture memories of the day, complete with fun props and backdrops. Additionally, there will be a special recognition ceremony honoring JeanAnn Oglesby, affectionately known as the “Mother of the Market,” and her former assistant Ellen Bass. These two pivotal figures played crucial roles in bringing the market back to downtown Anniston a decade ago and nurturing its growth over the years.
