TINTON FALLS - A dog was found abandoned and tied up behind a motel on Friday, and law enforcement are asking the public to help identify those responsible.

At 1:00 a.m., a female terrier mix was tied to a post behind the Hawthorn Suites Motel on Park Road in Tinton Falls, according to authorities. The dog was malnourished and in need of veterinary care, which she is currently receiving at the Monmouth County SPCA. It also appeared the dog recently gave birth to a litter of puppies.
