    Welcome to the start of the high school football season! The Week 0 schedule has 32 of the Shore Conference's 43 teams in action - in all, there are 25 games involving Shore teams.

    WEEK 0 SCHEDULE

    Thursday

    CLASS B NORTH

    Ocean 10, Red Bank Regional 6

    An Alex Staten 82-yard TD run put the Spartans ahead with 32 seconds left in the second quarter and Joe Bercovicz added a 30-yard field goal. Red Bank had owned a 6-0 lead on Quinn Niesz's 29-yard TD pass to Jah'mar Lane Bailey with 10:30 left in the half.

    NONDIVISIONAL

    Toms River East 12, Barnegat 7

    The winning touchdown by the Raiders came with 7:25 left on Dylan Errion's catch of a 26-yard pass from Anthony Demarco.

    NONCONFERENCE

    Brick Memorial 23, Allentown 20

    Bernards 35, Monmouth 6

    Monmouth avoided a shutout when Ryan Corwin scored on a 10-yard run with four minutes left.

    Jackson Liberty 34, Hamilton West 0

    A five-yard touchdown run by junior Corzeek Palms late in the third quarter wrapped up the scoring.

    Middletown (Del.) 16, Red Bank Catholic 14

    Frankie Williams had a one-yard touchdown run and rallied the Caseys with a 24-yard scoring pass to Daniel Zabora with 24 seconds left but Middletown recovered the ensuing onside kick.

    BATTLE AT THE BEACH

    At Egg Harbor Township High School

    Manchester 26, West Deptford 21 : The Hawks got the game-winning touchdown on a Nyzyr Battle 14-yard pass from Aidan Lunn with 8:44 left to play, prevailing in the first game (10 a.m. kickoff) of the 2024 New Jersey high school football season.

    Manchester didn’t trail in the game except for when West Deptford grabbed a 21-20 lead on Bryce Wynn’s 44-yard run with 1:23 left in the third quarter.

    Earlier Manchester had maintained control thanks to Malik Pharmes’ 25- and 3-yard touchdown runs and Ian Spicer booting field goals of 30 and 26 yards.
