West Virginia's beloved Heritage Farm is undergoing a transformation that promises to make it a year-round destination for thrill-seekers and winter sports enthusiasts alike. Known for its rich cultural history and immersive experiences that celebrate Appalachian heritage, Heritage Farm is expanding its offerings with the addition of a state-of-the-art snow park.

    Innovative Dry Slope Technology

Construction is already underway on this exciting new project, which is being built on 50 acres adjacent to the existing adventure park at Heritage Farm. The snow park, slated to open in 2025, will offer a range of winter activities, including skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. What sets this park apart is its use of dry slope technology, which mists the slopes to create a skiing surface even in warmer temperatures. This innovative approach will allow visitors to enjoy real snow, even when the weather reaches up to 70 degrees.

    Significant Investment and Development Phases

The project is a significant investment in the region, with an estimated cost of $8 million. The development will unfold in two phases. The first phase, currently in progress, focuses on the creation of an indoor park. This indoor facility will provide a controlled environment for year-round winter sports, ensuring that the fun doesn't have to wait for colder weather.

    Expanding the Experience Outdoors

Phase two, which will begin at a later date, will expand the experience outdoors. The outdoor park is set to open from October to April, offering a longer season for visitors to enjoy the snowy slopes and ice rinks.

A Bold Step for West Virginia Tourism

Heritage Farm's new snow park is more than just an addition to the farm's attractions; it's a bold step in enhancing West Virginia's appeal as a destination for outdoor recreation. By integrating cutting-edge technology with the natural beauty of the region, the farm is creating a unique space where families and adventure lovers can gather for unforgettable winter experiences.

    Looking Forward to 2025

As we look forward to 2025, the anticipation for this new attraction is building. Heritage Farm has long been a place where the past comes alive, and now, with the addition of the snow park, it’s set to be a place where the future of winter fun in West Virginia is shaped. Keep an eye on the progress of this exciting project—it’s sure to bring a new wave of visitors to the Mountain State, eager to experience the magic of snow in every season.
