Richland superintendent to stay on top of school roof for 38 hours

RICHLAND, Wash. – People can see an un usual sight at Liberty Christian school in Richland over the next couple of days! Superintendent Jim Cochran will be hanging out on the roof!

This all came about because of the school's annual Patriot Auction fundraiser. The superintendent told Apple Valley News Now he offered to stay up on the roof for an hour for every $200 raised and people were unexpectedly enthusiastic!

“We were hoping that everybody had spent their money during the evening and so the idea was okay, we'll have some fun you know, get some donations generate some time. It'd be awesome. If I could be up there for a long day. 16 hours, that wouldn't be a workday. So that would not be a problem,” superintendent  Cochran said, “then it stretched into Okay, now it's going to be 24 hours and overnight, and then we had some further donations come in and it stretched me into through that second night and into the morning.”

Superintendent Cochran will be on the roof starting Monday, May 20th at 3:30 p.m. until the start of the school day Wednesday, May 22nd.
