    Election Roundup: A look at some of Arizona's high profile race results

    (The Center Square) – The results are in. With 100% reporting, Arizona’s primary election results can be found on the Secretary of State’s website . Here’s a roundup of some the state's preliminary results:

    Arizona Corporation Commissioner

    There are three seats available for Arizona Corporation Commissioner. Aguilar Ylenia led in the democratic primary with 35.8% of the votes, pulling slightly ahead of Jonathon Hill, 32.87% and Joshua Polacheck. Republican candidate Rachel Walden led in her primary, receiving 36.88% of votes compared to opponents Rene Lopez, 32.25% and Lea Marquez Peterson, 30.86%.

    1st Congressional District

    Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. David Schweikert received the majority of votes, leading by 30,634 votes ahead of Kim George.

    In the Democratic race, Amish Shah pulled ahead with 24% of votes, only narrowly beating his top opponent: Andrei Cherny, 21.39%, with the others trailing behind – Marlene Galan-Woods, 20.79%, Conor O’Callaghan, 18.46%, Andrew Horne, 12.26%, and Kurt Kroemer, 3.08%.

    3rd Congressional District

    Democrat Yassamin Ansari narrowly led in the competitive primary race for Arizona's heavily-Democratic 3rd Congressional District with 46.1% of votes, 1,185 votes ahead of opponent Raquel Teran with Duane Wooten trailing behind.

    Ansari will be going against Republican Jeff Zink who led with 65.6% of votes in his primary over Jesus David Mendoza.

    4th Congressional District

    Republican Kelly Cooper will be running against Democrat Greg Stanton in November’s general election for the 4th Congressional District. Kelly narrowly defeated his three opponents with 32.24% of votes. Zuhdi Jasser followed with 26.8%, Dave Giles with 23.21% and Jerome Davison with 17.75%.

    6th Congressional District

    Incumbent Rep. Juan Ciscomani pulled ahead in the Republican primaries for CD 6 U.S. Representative in Congress. He led over opponent Kathleen Winn by 16,380 votes and will face Democratic candidate Kirsten Engel in the general election.

    8th Congressional District

    Trump-endorsed Abe Hamadeh claimed victory Wednesday afternoon for CD 8 U.S. Representative in Congress with Blake Masters 3,917 votes behind. The other republican candidates include Ben Toma, receiving 21.26% of votes, Trent Franks, 16.57%, Anthony Kern, 4.75% and Pat Briody, 2.34%.

    Hamadeh will be competing for the seat with Democrat Gregory Whitten in the general election.

    Legislative District 1

    Former lawmaker and Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem led in the Republican primary race for the LD 1 state senator seat. Following behind was incumbent Ken Bennett with 34.27% of votes and Steve Zipperman with 18.63%. The democratic candidate for LD 1 is Mike Fogel.

    The other legislative race is for state representative where two people from each district will be elected. Incumbent Quang Nguyen led in the LD 1 primary with 44.02% of votes, ahead of candidates Selina Bliss, 39.5% and Shawn Dell Wildman, 16.48%

    Marcia Smith narrowly led in the Democratic primary race for state representative with candidate Jay Ruby 1,769 votes behind.

    Legislative District 2

    Republican Shawnna Bolick will be going up against Democrat Judy Schwiebert in the race for LD 2 state senator after beating opponent Josh Barnett by 1,193 votes.

    For state representative, Stephanie Simacek is the only Democratic candidate. Republican candidates Justin Wilmeth narrowly led with Ari Bradshaw.

    Legislative District 3

    Republican Candidate Joseph Chaplik led in the state representative primary election with 54% of votes over incumbent Alexander Kolodin. Democratic Candidate Richard Corles will also be vying for one of the two LD 3 state representative seats.

    Legislative District 4

    Republican Carine Warner will be going against Democrat Christine Marsh in the race for LD 4 state senator after polling ahead of Kenneth R. Bowers, who only received 38.8% of the votes.

    In the race for the two state representative seats, Matt Gress led in the Republican primary with 55.8% of votes over Pamela Carter and Kelli Butler led in the democratic primary with 52.4% of voters over Karen Gresham.

    Legislative District 9

    Robert Scantlebury led in the Republican LD 9 state senate primary over Christopher Stapley and will be going against Democrat Eva Burch in November.

    Vying for the two LD 9 state representative seats are Republicans Mary Ann Mendoza and Kylie Barber, and Democrats Lorena Austin and Seth Blattman. Mendoza narrowly led in the republican primary with 50.7% of the votes and Austin led in the democratic primary with 54.1% of the votes.

    Legislative District 11

    In the Republican primary for LD 11 state representative, Joseph Charles Daily led 54.6% of voters over Cesar Ivan Aleman. Oscar De Los Santos led in the Democratic primary with 46.81% of votes and Junelle Cavero, 35.83%, and Izaak Ruiz, 17.36%, following.

    Legislative District 17

    It looks as though Incumbent LD 17 Senator Justine Wadsack will lose her seat to Vince Leach after receiving 943 less votes than him. Leach would be going up against Democrat John McLean.

    Legislative District 22

    In the race for LD 22 state senator, Eva Diaz led in the Democratic primary with 76.1% of voters over Leezah Sun. Diaz will be going against Republican Candidate Steve Robinson.

    Legislative District 23

    Democrat and Incumbent Brian Fernandez led in the Democratic primary for LD 23 state senator with 60.6% of the votes. He will be going up against Republican Michelle Altherr who, although uncontested in the primaries, received more votes than Fernandez.

    Legislative District 24

    Incumbent Democrat Analise Ortiz will retain her seat as LD 24 state senator after pulling ahead of opponent Mario Garcia with 86.3% of the votes. There are no Republican candidates.

    Legislative District 30

    Four candidates compete for Senate Majority Leader Sonny Borrelli’s newly-vacant seat as LD 30 senator. Republican candidates include Hildy Angius who led in the Republican primary with 51.5%, Ashley Gerich, 27.8% and Kimberly Zanon, 20.69%. Angius will be going against uncontested Democrat Candidate J’aime Morgaine.
