Braylon Mullins just to No. 26 overall in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking . The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Greenfield (IN) Greenfield-Central High averaged 25.0 points while shooting 42.9 percent from three this season. He is playing with the Indiana Elite program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit this summer.

“A lot of people know me as a shooter, I mean I put up a lot of threes every day,” Mullins told On3 . “Just this week I think I’ve had three games with 10 or more attempted. I’m still going to shoot it, my teammates trust me. Besides the shooting aspect, if people are running me off the line I can show a little bit of bounce and get my teammates open and I am a physical defender.”

On3 caught up with four-star Braylon Mullins at the Adidas 3SSB Palmetto Championships to discuss the latest in his recruitment.

“I have not been on any official visits yet,” Mullins said. “But I have eight officials set up. I have dates set with UConn first, and then I go to Michigan, UNC, Indiana, Purdue, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Kansas. I’m talking with Michigan State too, but nothing has been set with them. Arkansas also offered this week.”

Mullins discusses UConn, Michigan, and UNC

UConn : “I’m going to visit them August 1-2. They’re a two-time national champion with Dan Hurley . It’s cool to be recruited by them. I just want to go there and see the campus and their facilities with my own two eyes and see what they’re all about. See how I fit in with their system, that is what it is all about for me. They’ve sent me some Cam Spencer clips a little, his ability to run off screens, catch and shoot, and in ball screen action. I’m a little more than just a shooter.”

MICHIGAN : “That visit is September 5. Coach (Dusty) May is sticking out to me, when I went on my unofficial visit there a month or two back, he showed me how I would fit into their offense. He showed me around campus. I spent that whole day with him, usually, it is the assistant coach driving me around but there it was Coach May, so I was able to get to know him a little. He is a great guy and a great coach. He runs a lot of good stuff.”

UNC : “I feel like they’ve been out recruiting a lot because they’re recruiting a lot of people. But with them, they’ve called and texted me a lot recently, Coach (Sean) May showed out to my Charlie Hughes Showcase for my June high school season. It is good to see them around, and they brought four deep to watch me here, that means a lot.”

Braylon Mullins discusses Indiana and Purdue

INDIANA : “I mean, I’m an Indiana kid, I grew up just an hour down the road. I don’t know if I’m going to stay home or not, but it is good to have them as an outlet. I’ve talked with Coach (Brian) Walsh since the end of freshman year, the beginning of my sophomore year, and they always make it a priority because I’m an Indiana kid and they want to get Indiana kids at Indiana.”

PURDUE : “They have been a great program with Coach (Matt) Painter . Coach Painter is a great guy, I’ve been on like three unofficial visits there. That is probably the most time I have spent with the players was at Purdue. They’re team bonding, you can just tell it is different, and that is why they make it so far in the tournament. They run good stuff and I could see myself there as well.”

    Tennessee, Kansas, and Kentucky breakdown

TENNESSEE : “I have that visit at the end of October. I’ve talked a lot with Coach (Greg) Polinski, the assistant coach. He’s a funny guy, an older guy. They have an old-school coaching staff, a lot of basketball knowledge and that would be good for me, just to get a feel for what old school is like. Right when they started recruiting me, from the get-go, they told me that I reminded them of Dalton Knecht . At least the shooting portion, because he is known more of a slashing wing, so if I can implement that into my game and replicate what he did, I could get to the league.”

KENTUCKY : “I went on my unofficial visit there a couple of weeks back, and they offered me on my unofficial. Coach (Mak) Pope is a player’s coach, you can tell that. He gets to know you a lot. I spent that whole day with him, and that was the most film I have watched in a while. We looked at my statistics, my efficiency, and transition, we watched all my turnovers. He just likes to correct what is wrong, and I feel like that means a lot when trying to get better as a player. On my visit, he took me all the way to the top of Rupp and was just saying, “I remember when I won that National Championship with the 1996 team.” He has a lot of pressure on him coaching a blue blood program, but he makes it well known that he has a priority in his recruitment and he wants to recruit good players and good people and do things the right way. He thinks if he can do that, he can be successful.”

KANSAS : “At first they thought they were out of my recruitment, someone said to them that I was not interested which is not true. We talked before this event and I made sure they understood I wanted Kansas in my recruitment. Coach (Bill) Self is a hall-of-fame coach and he will get you anywhere you want to be. He is a great coach and I wat to learn more about them because I haven’t been able to build that relationship with them yet. I want to see that campus with my own two eyes. It is going to be a great experience.”

    New Arkansas offer

“About an hour after my game earlier this week,” Mullins said. “Brad (Calipari) texted me and said they were there and that I had a good game. Then he called me and offered me on the spot. Then he put me on the phone with Coach Cal ( John Calipari ) to make it more formal. Coach Cal basically compared me to all the guys that he has coached, mainly Reed Sheppard . I appreciate that and I am grateful for that moment.

He’s had some guys like me, so it gives you a vision of what he could do. And, I mean, it’s Coach Cal he has had so many pros. And so many of the pros he has coached are still in the league for eight or nine years. So it gives you a look at how you could progress as a basketball player in the long-run.”

    Mullins talks recruitment

“I know I have a lot of officials, but I have all fall to do whatever and that is what I’m using my time to do,” Mullins said. “See some campuses and I’m going to see some good football games and experience the atmosphere and the fans.

“I’m thinking about cutting my list down to nine or ten after this event,” Mullins said. “My first high school game is around November 21 and my last visit is the end of October. The plan is to narrow to three or four and then commit in that time between my last visit and first high school game. With Arkansas offering, it gave me some thought, I’m not sure if I’m going to post a top group after this week or not.

“The team bonding will be big for me. I want to see myself fit into a system with good people, good coaches, and a good community. I’d like to have fun when I’m there. You know, you’re going to be living there year-round, so you want to have fun. Also, I want to work my ass off to see myself playing as a freshman, so I want to opportunity to work hard and be able to do that.”
