BAYLES LAKE — Jim Brandt of Paxton overcame a heartbreaking loss last year to become the 2024 Lakeview Country Club champion on Sunday. Brandt seized control of the weekend tournament on Saturday shooting a 1-over-par 72. On Sunday, Brandt held off charges by Paxton Swede manager Mark Prina and young Tyler Fornoff. Brandt birdied the tough par 3 17th to seal the win. Fornoff finished second four shots back, with Prina five shots back. The championship was Brandt’s first.

PAXTON – The Paxton Aquatic Wildcats defeated the Gibson Area Swim Team 259-171 on Monday. The Paxton girls won 175-68 while the GAST boys won 103-84.
