New project aims to make Maine coast more climate-resilient
KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine — On Monday, Kennebunkport took its first steps toward becoming climate-resilient. The town hosted a ribbon-cutting to reopen the Pier Road Causeway, which connects the mainland to Bickford Island, as part of the climate resiliency project. The causeway was among the infrastructure damaged by recent storms, most notably the flood in March 2018.
