Trail walk at Pineland Farms Wednesday July 24
Nine of us walked the Shaker Bog trail. We found the heat bearable under the tree canopy and with the slight breeze from the bog. The trail has multiple trees across the path but it was maneuverable for all of us. It’s a quiet location where we saw two loons.
Beech Ridge Motor Speedway to host vintage race car event for final time
SCARBOROUGH (WGME) -- Race car fans will be driving over to the old Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough this Sunday for a race car show unlike any other. The historic track, which no longer has racing, will go green one final time this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Boothbay 36ers heading to American Legion tournament
The Boothbay 36ers are heading to the American Legion Baseball State Championship tournament. Two wins in the southern zone tournament action over Central Maine Hammond Lumber and Capital Area this weekend led to their finish as one of two southern zone teams qualifying for the state tournament. On July 22, Boothbay plays Skowhegan (8-6) at 5:30 p.m. in the southern zone championship game at Thomas College in Waterville. Both teams earned spots in next weekend’s state championship tournament.

Danny Caputo Commits to Southern Maine
An '03 from Lanoka Harbor, NJ, Caputo played in 68 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games over the course of two seasons. In the 2022-23 season, he began with the New Jersey 87's, recording a goal and two assists in 14 games. He then moved to the Connecticut Chiefs, where he recorded a goal and six assists in 17 games. This past year, he captained the Boston Jr. Terriers, playing 37 games and recording three goals and nine assists to his credit.
