An Ashland teen accused of bringing a knife and drugs to school will have a plea and sentencing hearing in July.

Brady Ludwikoski, 18, missed his hearing last month. His attorney, Catherine Chevalier, said she had a tough time contacting him prior to the court date since Ludwikoski had no phone and was homeless at the time.

The hearing is set for July 12.

Authorities say Ludwikoski brought a knife, marijuana and drug paraphernalia onto school grounds in September.

According to the criminal complaint a student told the school’s resource officer, Ryan Bybee, Ludwikoski had a knife at school. Ludwikoski was not at school at the time, so Bybee waited for him to return. When Ludwikoski returned, Bybee approached him as Ludwikoski was trying to enter the building. Ludwikoski was visibly upset while trying to enter and yelled “vile names” at the school principal, the complaint said.

Bybee told Ludwikoski that he would be searched, but Ludwikoski said he didn’t want to be. Bybee then asked where the knife was. Ludwikoski said the knife was in his jacket pocket. Bybee found the knife, which was not a foldable pocketknife, along with a baggie of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
