The Georgia Bulldogs are getting a mammoth in their latest commit from 6-foot-10, 330-pound basketball star and offensive tackle, Jahzare Jackson.

Jackson, who was teammates with Lakers rookie Bronny James at Overtime Elite, a basketball academy based in Atlanta, chose to make the switch to football after his tryout for the NBA Draft did not work out.

He was a three-star football prospect out of the IMG Academy before he joined Overtime Elite to pursue basketball out of high school.

A fun fact about Jackson is that he has not played football since the eighth grade, though his natural athleticism left no room for the Bulldogs to worry when he took an official visit to Athens on June 21.

Knowing Kirby Smart's love for massive defenders, his size also helped Georgia extend an offer.

"Why UGA? Shoot, I fell in love with the coaches. I fell in love with the school. Players were welcoming when I got there," Jackson said in an Instagram post announcing his decision. "I'm still in Georgia, too, at the end of the day. That was a big thing for me still being able to be in Georgia. I just felt like when I got there, it was home for real. All the coaches were cool."

Georgia fans won't have to wait much longer to see what Jackson can do considering he is a late addition to their 2024 recruiting class and becomes the tallest Bulldog since the team signed 6-foot-9 offensive lineman Bernard Williams back in 1990 .
