While Kirby Smart is getting set for his ninth season leading the Georgia Bulldogs on the football field, his youngest son, Andrew Smart, is representing the state of Georgia as it competes to secure one of 10 spots for the US in the Little League World Series.

    And he's turning heads.

Smart made his presence felt for Oconee County when he blasted a solo home run to center field to tie the game against South Carolina in the bottom of the first inning.

Georgia was on the ropes following an 8-5 loss to North Carolina on Thursday, but Smart's homer ignited a spark that ultimately proved to be too much for South Carolina.

It seems like the athleticism runs in the family. Kirby Smart sits at sixth all-time in interceptions for his alma matter.

Georgia secured an 8-6 victory and advanced in the Southeast Region Tournament to play the loser of Virginia-Tennessee, which will take place at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Smart and Georgia will have to win their next for games to secure a spot in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The tournament will begin on Aug. 14.
