Simone Biles Is Going Viral for Savage Post After Incident With USA Gymnastics Icon

On a day when the success of the Team USA gymnasts should have been celebrated, they made sure to let people know that they have heard their criticisms.

Led by Simone Biles, Team USA returned to the podium for the first time since 2016 in the Women's All-Around final. They nabbed a gold medal, and by a wide margin, posting a score of 171.296 which was well ahead of silver medalists Italy, who finished with a 165.494. However, the biggest topic of discussion wasn't what they accomplished in Paris, but how Biles responded to former Team USA gymnast MyKayla Skinner who blasted the team before the games.

"Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t what it used to be," Skinner said of the team's work ethic. "A lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic."

A quote the Biles and company clearly had held on to throughout the process, and found some time in between celebrating to troll Skinner. The 27-year-old Biles took to Instagram to commemorate the team, but used Skinner's criticism as her caption.

"Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions ❤️🥇🇺🇸," Biles wrote on Instagram.

A caption that led to former gymnasts like McKayla Maroney and Laurie Hernandez hopping into the comment section to applaud Biles for the elite-level trolling. However, as one could imagine not everyone was a fan of Biles' post.

While she didn't name names in a post on the app formerly known as Twitter, Biles provided a bit of an update on the matter and fans are loving it.

"oop I’ve been blocked 👀🫢😂," Biles wrote on the app formerly known as Twitter.

Something that her current teammate Jordan Chiles confirmed on her Instagram story, as she took a picture of Biles' Instagram account not being able to see Skinner's page.

Clearly, the two won't be meeting up to hang out anytime soon, but Biles has more history to make in the coming days.

As for how the medal boosted her legacy, Biles surpassed Shannon Miller as the most decorated gymnast in Team USA history with eight Olympic medals. Miller had quite the run though, as it was a record that she had held since 1996.

She is competing in four more events starting on August 1, and will look to build off her stellar Tuesday scores that saw her post a 14.900 in vault, 14.400 on the uneven bars, a 14.366 on the balance beam, and her 14.666 on the floor exercise actually clinched the gold and got her a major ovation from the crowd. It also showed her resiliency, as that was where she had tweaked her calf injury during practice this past weekend.
