After leading the U.S. women's gymnastics team to the second team gold medal of her illustrious career, Simone Biles coined a new nickname for her Paris Olympics squad -- the "Golden Girls."

Another gymnastics icon from a memorable U.S. women's gymnastics team thinks it's perfect.

Dominique Moceanu, who at age 14 helped lead a team dubbed the "Magnificent Seven" to a team gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, issued a strong response to Biles' announcement of the new team's name.

"The 'Golden Girls' is a perfect name!" Moceanu replied to Biles on X . "It beautifully captures both the team's seasoned excellence & glittering achievements. The journey of this team continues to inspire & shine bright!"

Moceanu has an iconic career of her own, the youngest member of the 1996 team and the last to ever legally compete in the Olympics at the age of 14 before age guidelines were changed.

Biles was one of the biggest reasons that Team USA took home gold in the team competition at the Paris Olympics. She clinched the top spot with a nearly flawless performance on the floor, earning a score of 14.666. Biles also scored 14.900 in the vault, 14.400 in uneven bars, and 14.366 on the beam.
