Could Knicks Target Larry Nance Jr.?

The New York Knicks have been very active in the trade market in the last year, and that trend could continue this season.

In a recent article by The Athletic , John Hollinger says that he believes the team should consider trading for another big man for some depth, and the player that he proposes is Atlanta Hawks veteran Larry Nance Jr.

"At a much lower level, the player who makes some sense in this role behind Robinson and could probably be had is Larry Nance Jr., who right now is the third center on the depth chart in Atlanta and has a digestible $11 million expiring salary," Hollinger said.

The Knicks' starting center this season will be Mitchell Robinson, and the team recently re-signed Precious Achiuwa to be the backup. With that being said, it is always good to have options in case someone gets injured, or just to have more depth in general.

Nance averaged six points, five rebounds, and a steal in 19 minutes per game this past season for the New Orleans Pelicans. You know exactly what you are getting with him, and that is a guy who can make athletic plays and hustle with the best of them when you need him to.

At 31 years old, he would also be a solid veteran presence for a team looking to contend this season. If the Knicks do want some more depth at the big man positions, Nance could be an intriguing option.
