Don't ask Matt LaFleur how he feels about having a traditional number-one receiver.

    He might vomit.

In his availability with the media on Monday, LaFleur was asked a question by ESPN Wisconsin's Jason Wilde about Dontayvion Wicks.

Wilde also said a phrase that evidently induces a reaction from LaFleur that could lead to some queasyness.

The question was in regards to how the Packers do not have a top receiver, and LaFleur answered with a funny quip at the beginning.

"I want to vomit every time I hear #1 receiver. It drives me crazy." LaFleur said.

LaFleur has probably heard the phrase in some shape or form countless times in the last three years.

Of course, the noise about Green Bay's receiving corps hit a fever pitch after the team eschewed drafting one in favor of picking quarterback Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft.

You know that story by this point. It does not need to be re-hashed.

Green Bay could have picked a receiver, they picked a quarterback despite having Aaron Rodgers.

It has all worked out. Love is the highest-paid quarterback in football with a new $220 million deal he signed at the beginning of training camp.

Every year, dozens of mock drafts have the Packers taking a receiver in the first round.

They all start with the same basic line for analysis.

"I know the Packers never do this, but.."

Instead, Brian Gutekunst has built a receiving corps that Matt LaFleur is excited about.

"I think those I would say top-4 guys, they’re all capable of being a “number one” in some capacity. It’s just how do we want to attack somebody and where do we want to put those guys." LaFleur said

"It allows us, who’s gonna get the ball? I don’t know. It could change on a week-to-week basis we saw that last year."

Perhaps there was no bigger indication of that than their last four wins of the season when Green Bay's offense truly got rolling.

In those three games, Green Bay's leading receiver was

@ Minnesota Bo Melton 6 catches, 105 yards, 1 touchdown

vs Chicago Jayden Reed 4 catches, 112 yards

@ Dallas Romeo Doubs 6 catches 151 yards, 1 touchdown.

Doubs led the team in receiving again in San Francisco to close out his strong finish to the year.

Other than that, it changed week-to-week, likely driving defensive coordinators crazy.

Four games with three different leading receivers.

It's not the same as the group that the Packers won the Super Bowl with, but it is eerily similar.

No, they're not likely to end up on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

No, they may not score at the same pace the 2011 Packers did.

They could, however, have such a diverse set of weapons that the 2010 Packers did that carried over into 2011.

What did the 2010 Packers do? They won the Super Bowl.

Greg Jennings was the team's top receiver during that playoff run, but the Packers had such a diverse group surrounding Aaron Rodgers.

Jordy Nelson, James Jones, and Donald Driver all played key roles at different times during the 2010 playoff run.

That team won the Super Bowl, and the quarterback won the league MVP the following season.

Could a similar fate await Jordan Love this season? That's possible, and a fair question to ask.

Just don't ask his coach about a number one receiver anymore.
