Five New Sports Scheduled To Take Place In The 2028 LA Olympics

After one of the best and most competitive Olympics in recent memory in Paris, there will be even more to look forward to in 2028, when the Olympics take place in Los Angeles, California.

At this point in time, the Olympic Committee is introducing five new sports to the Olympic Games. The five sports scheduled to debut are baseball/softball, cricket, flag football, lacrosse, and squash.

The first thought, especially for it being in the U.S., is the addition of flag football, which will be one of the most unique and intriguing storylines leading up to 2028. Seeing what other countries bring to the table for the sport will be extremely interesting.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is an ambassador of the sport entering the games, and many NFL players, including Hurts, Joe Burrow , and Patrick Mahomes , have expressed their interest in potentially competing in it.

Cricket and squash will be the easiest transitions internationally, along with baseball. However, these will be massive developments over the next four years to make sure countries have enough resources and competitors to enter and compete in all five of these new sports entering the Olympic Games.
