Now that Team USA's gold medal run in the 2024 Olympics has officially come to a close, some fans can't help but look ahead to the future. In particular, there has already been a growing buzz surrounding the next iteration of the national squad for the upcoming 2028 Olympics, which will be held in Los Angeles.

A popular basketball-dedicated X account, Legion Hoops, recently listed its way-too-early prediction for the Olympic roster four years from now. 2024 alumni Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Davis were among the headliners of the star-studded roster, along with the likes of Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, and Donovan Mitchell.

One player who has been completely looked over on the 15-man list is Golden State Warriors rising star Brandin Podziemski. The 21-year-old caught wind of the forecast and he could not help but react to the snub.

    "🤷🏽‍♂️📝" Podziemski tweeted.

Despite his unwavering self-belief, the truth of the matter is that Podziemski is not exactly the first name that comes to mind when listing the top talents in the NBA.

The Warriors shooting guard does not agree with this notion, though, and he's clearly taking note of what he seems to believe is an unwarranted slight.

The good news for Podziemski is that he has four more years to prove his worth to the fans and more importantly, to USA Basketball.

In his rookie campaign last term, the former Illinois standout averaged 9.2 points , 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 26.6 minutes per game. The No. 19 overall pick of the 2023 NBA draft came in fifth in the Rookie of the Year voting.

Podziemski is expected to play an even bigger role for the Dubs in 2024-25, which could play a crucial role in his quest for a roster spot for the 2028 Olympics.
