Could Chiefs Sign DeMarcus Lawrence Next Offseason?

One of the areas that the Kansas City Chiefs could use the most work is their edge rushers, and they could do some work on it in next year's free agency.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report , they go over each NFL team's biggest weaknesses, and they propose players that could help them. For the reigning Super Bowl champions, they think Dallas Cowboys edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence could bolster their defensive line.

B/R writes: "If there's one weakness that it would be nice to address right now for the Chiefs, it's the lack of pass-rush depth... it's a three-man rotation of George Karlaftis, Mike Danna and Felix Anudike-Uzomah. The Chiefs have the advantage of drawing in veterans who want to chase a ring. If the Cowboys come up short with a bunch of key players to re-sign, DeMarcus Lawrence would be a great target to fill that role."

The Chiefs are looking to extend their dynasty, so adding a veteran like Lawrence - who is out of contract after this year in Dallas - could help give the team a few more years of defensive prowess.

He finished this past season with 50 total tackles, 10 of them being for a loss, and he also tallied four sacks. He was also able to show his versatility by defending six passes and forcing a fumble.

The Chiefs have a few edge rushers that could start, but signing a veteran like Lawrence to be a leader could help a lot.
