Haason Reddick Holdout Provides Latest Win for Howie Roseman, Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles always appear to be one step ahead of their competition.

Especially when it comes to their general manager.

That reality was even further brought home with the recent updates to the Haason Reddick situation. Just four months after the Eagles traded him to the New York Jets in search of a long-term contract, Reddick has not only held out of training camp practices but has now requested a trade as well.

Now, eventually, it seems that Reddick and the Jets will come together on a new deal that brings the veteran to Florham Park, but the longer this goes on, the longer the truth about Howie Roseman continues to take root.

Philadelphia's general manager is really good at this.

Not only did he know that Reddick would sit out of practices until he got a new deal, but he was able to acquire a third-round pick for a 29-year-old's services while still adding to the team the rest of the way.

Instead of paying for an older Reddick, Roseman decided to pay younger and faster players like Bryce Huff to better fit their plan as a team going forward.

It may not happen right away, but the longer Reddick's holdout with the Jets continues, the more Roseman looks like an absolute genius to get ahead of the entire situation in the first place.
