STEELERS WATCH: OL Spencer Anderson Goes Viral For Hilarious Play vs. Houston

Sometimes we get so invested in our team that we forget that football is just a game. One person who hasn’t forgotten that is Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Spencer Anderson.

At 6-5 and 305 pounds, the Steelers guard is having fun while fighting for a roster spot while playing the sport he loves. That fun side showed on Friday night when one play from the night went completely viral.

The Steelers trailed 7-0 in the second quarter and the Steelers had driven to the Houston 17-yard line for the first red zone trip.

Texans defensive tackle Kurt Hinish jumped offsides making contact with Anderson for a penalty, but it was Anderson’s sell job that made the highlight reel.

In what can only be described as a total flop, Anderson flew backwards, rolled on the ground, and ended up 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage. It was truly an award-winning performance that even the WWE would find impressive.

Since that viral moment, Anderson has embraced it. When he was asked about it following practice on Monday, his answer was almost as hysterical as the viral clip itself.

“There’s no place for violence like that in football,” Anderson jokingly answered.

Last year’s seventh-round pick is fighting to make the final 53-man roster and should see more action this week when the Steelers play the Buffalo Bills at home.
