Chiefs NFL Mock Draft: Notre Dame TE in 2025?

    By Jonah Morgan,

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has been one of, if not the best tight ends in the NFL for almost a decade, so the time in his prime might be running short.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report , they go over each NFL team's biggest weaknesses, and they propose players that could help them. For the reigning Super Bowl champions, they think that drafting Notre Dame tight end Mitchell Evans in the 2025 NFL Draft could be a good move for the future of the position.

"Kelce's eventual retirement is going to leave a massive hole in the Chiefs offense," Bleacher Report writes. "Jared Wiley has some promise, but they might want to make a bigger draft investment at the position next year. Mitchell Evans has to prove he can come back from a torn ACL he suffered last season. But he has made some ridiculous grabs in his college career and can make defenders miss."

Kelce will be turning 35 years old in October, so drafting a tight end to replace him could be what the team needs right now, even though Chiefs fans probably don't want to think about that.

Evans finished his junior season at Notre Dame with 422 receiving yards and a touchdown in just eight games. His 6-5, 250-pound frame makes him an imposing threat in the red zone and could lead to some spectacular catches.

Whether Chiefs fans are ready to admit it or not, Kelce's time in the NFL is dwindling, and drafting for the future may be the team's best option.
