Tyrese Maxey is coming off a career year. The Philadelphia 76ers guard earned his first All-Star game, won the Most Improved Player award, and averaged a career-high 25.9 points. Although the 76ers fell to the New York Knicks in six games, Maxey showcased heroics throughout the series, including a 46-point explosion in Game 5.

In a recent workout, Maxey's former teammate James Harden commented on his efforts.

Although Harden left the 76ers on bad terms, especially regarding his long-standing relationship with Daryl Morey, it seems Maxey has no bad blood for his former teammate.

"I got the pleasure an opportunity to be with Tyrese [Maxey] two years ago," Harden said. "He work his a** off. What'd you just sign for Rese?... A bank. They giving this sh** out. Cherish it, though; put the work in, and the results will pay off later."

Harden and Maxey played 68 genes together. As the third option in the offense, with Joel Embiid and Harden leading the trio, Maxey averaged 18.7 points and 3.2 assists during Harden's short tenure with the 76ers.

Maxey signed a five-year, $204 million extension over the summer, revealing the 76ers faith and excitement as the Texas native continues his improvements.

The 76ers All-Star guard revealed on his new teammate Paul George's podcast, Podcast P Show, that he had to mature mentally before improving physically. In light of Harden's complimentary comments about Maxey, it's safe to say Philadelphia has a high-level player and a great locker-room presence with the potential to become a lead-by-example veteran.
